Professor, CMAP, Ecole Polytechnique

Welcome to my website!

I am professor at Ecole Polytechnique and a member of the applied mathematics department (CMAP).

My research interests are in the field of computational statistics and machine learning. I am particularly interested in the development of Monte Carlo and stochastic methods for Bayesian inference and generative models. I am also interested in the development of stochastic approximation schemes for the solution of optimization or fixed-point problems.

More broadly, I am interested in the following topics:

  • Monte Carlo methods, Markov chains Monte Carlo methods, variational inference, distributed Monte Carlo methods.

  • Stochastic optimization and approximation, Riemannian stochastic optimization

  • Theory and analysis of Markov processes

  • Generative modelling

  • Bayesian statistics and inverse problems
